Marking its 10th anniversary from its formation, the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) returns to New York City from July 7-11, 2009, featuring concerts, films, industry panels and lectures throughout the city of New York, with a blend of Latin American-influenced musical groups. This event is geared towards the presenting of Spanish-language “alternative” music, showcasing works by groups within the genres of rock, hip-hop and electronica musical developments from groups coming from Latin America, Europe and the U.S. This six-day event provides social networking opportunities for artists, label executives, journalists, managers, marketers, retailers and programmers to get their hands into the developments of the urban musical genres in Latin America. More than 35,000 music followers and industry have attended LAMC events before, at venues throughout New York City. Among the featured LAMC venues in New York are Central Park SummerStage, Celebrate Brooklyn at Prospect Park, The Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge. The LAMC has been also hosted in other cities such as Buenos Aires and Mexico City.
